New mail not appearing in Unread mail folder

We have a user running Outlook 2003 who utilizes their Unread mail folder.
What is happening is they are getting new mail and it is not showing up
immediately in the Unread mail folder. We have had two cases from two
separate senders (same originating company) where this happened. Tests from
Yahoo mail show up immediately. The Exchange server shows that the mail was
received at the correct time (7:50am for example) but the mail isn't showing
up in the Unread folder until hours or days later.

Any ideas?
