NEW MAIL NOTIFICATION ENVELOPE

Ameneses

I'm using WINXP PRP SP3,Office 2007.
Everything was fine and suddenly since yesterday, when a new mail arrives
the small notification envelope does not appear on the taskbar.
-I already chose to have it appear in tools/options/etc /advanced properties
-I have all icons to show on taskbar
-I don't have any specific rule that would justify this behavior.
I'd appreciate your help.

Have you right clicked the taskbar where you want the small icon to appear?

Click "CUSTOMIZE NOTIFICATIONS"

try restoring if you can't correct it.

Thank you for your help.
I do not have "hide innactive icons"checked so I can't customize.
What do you mean by restore?

When you click Customize notifications (after right clicking) do you have two
sections current and past ? Under Past - it says "always"? and under
Current it says "Always show"?

There is a RESTORE DEFAULT button at the bottom when you are in the
customizing part.

When you receive new mail, does it remain in your Inbox?

Have you tried loading Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")
which does not load any installed add-ons to Outlook? If it then works,
you have an add-on interferring with the behavior of Outlook.

When you exit Outlook, did you check Task Manager -> Processes to ensure
there was no remnant outlook.exe stub still running in memory? If so,
kill it (after waiting a minute after exiting Outlook). You didn't
mention trying to reboot to fix the problem which would've also
eliminate the redundant and interferring outlook.exe in memory.

Thank you for your reply.
At last a wise advice " on the money". Effectively SPAMBULLY is blocking the
envelope feature. I've written them to ask for adviice.
