New Mail notification Icon (on processing rules to another folder) does not appear (Outlook 2007)

When using rules to move emails to another folder in Outlook 2007
(exchange), the new mail notification icon doesnt show up, due to the
fact that the rule fires before it realizes there is new mail (as
oppossed to 2003 where this was never an issue). (i think)

Does anyone know of a workaround for this? Business wise this could be
very bad, as alot of employees redirect emails destined for other
accounts to other folders and not having the icon might seem trivial,
but in the business world it is.
