Folks;

I have just joined the Mactopia Entourage forum and I have two questions:

1) I currently have Office 2004 - what I would like to know is if the AppleScript support for Entourage changed in Office 2008. I can't seem to find anything on the Mactopia site that addresses AppleScript for Entourage in Office 2008.

2) I have developed a software product that would be useful to Entourage users. The Mactopia Term of Use prohibit: "...Advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose, unless such Communication Services specifically allows such messages...." So my question is three fold:

a) does THIS forum (Communication Service?) allow such messages?
b) is a posting whereby I make a Product Announcement considered advertising and thus prohibited?
c) Assuming that I am prohibited on this forum, where would folks recommend that I do post so that Entourage users might learn about my product?

Thanks for your time,
Steve

AppleScript has not changed for Entourage 2008. Except for a couple of
changes like Notifications are now called Reminders. You'll find more
changes for Tiger vs Leopard.

This sounds much like spam which is removed from the server when found.
Messages are checked daily by Microsoft and MVPs. You'll find very few that
stay around for long.

You can contact me off list. I am webmaster for the Entourage Help Page and
have a page for third party products. I neither endorse or accept
compensation for any listing.

You can also reply to the address used on this forum/newsgroup. The forum is
just an interface to the newsgroup.

Hi Steve!

Just adding my two cents.

If a product directly relates to the subject of the newsgroup then I
don't necessarily see product announcements as spam. Obviously, posting
in the newsgroup every week or every month as an *advertisement* is
discouraged but relevant one-time product announcements or announcements
about product updates should not be discouraged.

Furthermore, the "forums" you have found are really just web front-ends
to the microsoft.public.* newsgroups, which are freely available to
everyone on the Internet. Microsoft can only affect what you see on
their forum front-end website. They can't prevent anyone from posting to
the Usenet newsgroups, however. That's both good and bad depending on
whether you're a user looking for help, a product developer announcing
products or a spammer.

Hope this helps!
