Beginning about 6 hours ago my new downloaded messsages do not show up in my
in box, although they DO show up in the unread messages number posted next to
my "Inbox" inside the favorite folders window. I can access them by clicking
on the "Unread Mail" folder inside the favorite folders window. in
thi"Unread Mail" folder they show up inside the Inbox. I can't figure out
whats going on

Not that I know of... how would I check this? I am about to leave my
computer to go hinking for three days, so will not reply right away.
Thank you for help.

I'm having a similar problem.

When I click Send/Receive and a message is downloaded, a number will appear
beside the Inbox name in the Mail Folders list, but the message isn't listed
in the Inbox. But if I click on any other mail folder and then back to the
Inbox, the message is there.

I'm on Outlook 2007 and my View is set to Messages.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and settigns are: View /Arrange By/ Current View /
Messages. Unlike Eliabeth, my new messages never appear in the Inbox
(although they are listed in the unread messages number next to "Inbox"), but
they do show up in the "Unread" folder.

Kathleen,
When I started up my computer this morning, all was back to normal. A
weeks worth of messages suddenly appeared in my inbox. Go figure!? I've
changed no settings whatsoever. So, whatever it is, or was, seems to have
cured itself. I will go to the "Outlook How To" site as you suggeted to
learn more... and hope the bug does not reappear.
Thanks for your help, Bob

Mine seems to have fixed itself as well. Like Bob, I didn't change any
settings, so can't explain it.

Thanks for your help.

I have exactly the same problem as Elizabeth.
Outlook 2007: New e-mails is not shown in the inbox, but the correct number
of new e-mails is shown in Mail Folder list. I have to click on another
folder, and then back to the Inbox to see it.
I tried turning off the firewalls, that didn't change anything...

Any ideas?
