New Normal.Dot

How can I refresh a badly mangled normal.dot? I deleted all the ones I
can find on my disk, but the mangling still seems to be there.

First of all, do a search and make sure you've gotten rid of ALL of
them. Word sometimes hides things in interesting places. Be sure to
take into account which user you are signing in under.

Once you've gotten rid of them all, just start Word. If it can't find
a Normal.dot, it makes a new one with default settings.
