New Notebook... How to archive the old?

J

James Gockel

I've been without my tablet for a few months now, and just got it returned
to me, and now I've gotten to use onenote again, but Everything's a mess. I
want to archive everything and start a new notebook, what is the best way to
achive this?

Thanks,
James G.

Hi James,

You can go into Tools/Options/Open and Save, then choose a new location for
your notebook. If there are no OneNote files in the folder you designate as
the "root" of your notebook, then OneNote will generate a default blank
notebook structure for you. You can always open individual sections from
your old notebook using Ctrl-O (File/Open).

if you want to keep your current path, you can simply cut and paste all the
files using Explorer to a folder somewhere else and call it "Old Notes" or
whatever.

James,

You can simply backup the folders and .one files to a place of your
choosing.

Or, you could create an Archive folder under My Notebook and move
existing folders and .one files into that (using the operating
system). To be safe (although it's low risk) you should always back up
before moving.
