new .ost as outlook0.ost

A user has problem with his outlook cache mode. So I closed his OL and
rename outlook.ost. Then lauched OL. A new file outlook0.ost was created.
Just curious why it's not outlook.ost instead outlook0.ost.

Thanks.

Most likely all the "hooks" to the old ost were not released. Could be
something in the registry that makes Windows think that outlook.ost still
exists.

Try this: Before renaming the old ost, turn off cached mode and exit
Outlook. Then rename the file and any others associated with cached mode,
restart Outlook and turned cached mode back on. See if the new files created
aren't named without the 0.

never mind. I found the setting for offline folder is set to use
outlook0.ost. Someone must have changed that.
