New Outlook 2000 contacts automatically marked as Private

I share a Contacts folder with colleagues using a Net
folder. However each time we enter a new contact on the
master outlook folder it automatically checks the Private
box. I can't find a default key or option to turn this
off.

Anyone any ideas?
