New outlook messages not staying in my inbox when offline.

When I'm online or in the office with my laptop, all of my new e-mails will
populate in Outlook. However, once I'm on the road and trying to work from
the plane or location without internet access (working offline, not connected
to our servers) my Outlook goes back to the last point when I was in the
office. The e-mails aren’t staying in my inbox once I'm disconnected. I am
using Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2007. Any suggestions would be
appreciated!

Do you have Cached Exchange Mode enabled and are not just working in Classic
Offline Mode?
You can verify this in your Account Settings.

When you are in the office, rename your ost-file to .old when Outlook is
closed. When you now start Outlook, it will rebuild its local cache. See if
it works correctly now.

Thank you Robert. I will have the company president check this. If it is
not checked and I have him check it and then rename the ost file, will he
have problems rebuilding the local cache even those he is on the road and not
connected directly to our server at this time - and won't be until later this
week?

Or should I have him do the renaming of the ost file and correct this when
he is back connected directly to our server?

Thanks!

As the rebuilding of the cache means that the entire mailbox will be
downloaded to that client again, do this remotely could take a long time or
might be very expensive (depending on the method of connecting). If that is
not a problem, and he can currently connect to the servers, then he can do
it right now as well. Note that while the cache is being rebuild, he won't
have access to the items that have not been cached yet.
