New own template also categorized

Hello,

I want a Visio .vst document to appear when I choose "File -> New -> Getting
started" preferably also categorized wherever I choose (ie. Business /
Network and so on...).
The template itself I create via "File -> Save as" and "Save as type":
Template (*.vst). The location I guess should be:
"C:\Users\Me.MyselfandI\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\" or "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\1033" (Office 2007 on Windows Vista).

Please help...

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Tom

Hello,

You could put rthem in the My Documents -> My Shapes folder. Then in Visio set the path to
this folder in menu Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> File Paths and add the path to the
Templates path. If there is already a path there then add a ';' between the paths.

If you create a folder within My Shapes called "fred" then the new template will appear in
category "fred". Ditto for any stencils put in that folder.

The latter should not be writable for normal users on Vista, and the you
would need to set the Advanced / File Paths in Visio to use the former.
Point the file path to
C:\Users\Me.MyselfandI\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\
Create a sub folder with the Category name that you want to appear in Visio
Put your vst in that sub folder

I visited the MS Visio website at: http://visiotoolbox.com

It gave me all the exposure, guidelines & verious aspects of Visio, plus
great insights available now about the upcoming Visio 2010.

Check it out !!!!
