New page and Print button problem

I often find that command N does not bring up a new blank document, and I
have to do it through the file menu.

Also, I find often that in Print dialog box, hitting return wont work, and I
have to click print button with the mouse.

Now this clears out usually with one good reboot, but it's highly annoying.

I though it might be system wide, but I've been keeping an eye out, and
it's just a Word problem.

I have seen that cmd-N failure once or twice too. I think a quit and
log out 'fixed' it. Yes it was only Word that was doing it. Next time I
see it, I'm trying a force relaunch of the finder if a Word quit is not
enough. No idea of what I was doing prior, so I never logged a whinge
report.

Thanks, yes goes away after a reboot, buy why happening?

Any ideas also on why buttons often don't work with return key?

Hi Kevs:

I do not know why it's happening. I think there may be some instability in
the interface between Word and CarbonLib that is causing word to close files
that should remain open.

Some buttons do not work with the Return (Enter) key because they are not
supposed to. Others because the user interface is context-sensitive (what
is enabled depends on what you are doing). But one of the more irritating
problems occurs due to a bug in the Formatting Palette.

Some items of the user interface will not work if the Formatting Palette is
open: and it's a bug.

Try the next version of Word as soon as you can. Almost all of the glitches
have been fixed in the new version.

Cheers
