New page into same document

I always thought that clicking blank page would give me my second page. However, it saves it as a whole different document. I want to put page two into the same document. How do I do this. Please help me.

keep typing... as you end the bottom of page 1... a new page will
automatically appear.... if you don't need to type any more text but want to
move to a new page --go to INSERT --> Page Break (or Control + Enter)

You are right -- the "New" button --is a new document!
