New PC: Unable To Link To .XLS

When I try to create a link to a .xls:

- The Common File dialog pops up

- It lets me choose the spreadsheet I want to link to

- But when I click OK in the CF dialog, nothing
happens - no error, no import dialog... nothing


Sounds like something's missing in my new PC's install of MS Access...
but what?

Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | MS Office | Repair

.... did the trick
