New Project site. Need some insight on install!

I have a virtual server already running with about 5 sites under it. If I use
this virtual server for the project install will it mess anything up. The
virtual server has host headers like http://dev.sites.com/site1 &
http://dev.sites.com/site2 and so on. When I install project server I want
to be able to get to the PWA by using http://dev.sites/projectserver Anyone
got any insight on how to accomplish this. If I install PS to a new virtual
server and try using host headers it makes this hard because I would have to
use a host header like http://dev.sites/projectserver but "/" is not an
allowed character in a host header. I would like to just install to the
current virtual server, but I am worried it will mess things up. Has anyone
installed to a virtual server with multiple sites already running?

Or would it just be easier to just install WSS and Project Server. Add a host
header to project server and then just create the sites that are in the other
virtual server, under the project server url. They are not project
workspaces. They are just sharepoint sites.

Jay:

If you install Project Server on a virtual site running WSS, make sure that
you add the Project Server path to the exclusions in managed paths. If
you're running plain Jane WSS sites, then installing Project Server
customizations to the site shouldn't have a negative affect. In this case
you'll need to run WSSWIZ on the existing site, then run the Project Server
install. If you've made customizations to your WSS site, running WSSWIZ will
remove them.

Actually, I did this a better way. I ended up using the WSS SMIGRATE tool to
migrate the site from it's virtual server to be under the project virtual
server! Works Great now!
