New PST File Format

T

Tom

I'm a stand-alone user, so compatibility with others is not an issue, but I
was wondering what the benefits are of the new PST format. In other words,
why should I change/not change to the new format, given that there's no
"easy" way to do it (i.e. creating a new file, and importing stuff to it).

The help file eludes to larger storage capacity, but that's about it. Is it
any faster? Better indexing?

Thanks!

Larger capacity is the number #1 reason to use the new format. The other
thing the unicode store brings is the ability to store messages in the
orginal language format.

I haven't noticed a speed up or degradation of performance when using the
new pst format.
