New Server Blues

R

Russ Thompson

I moved my web page from one host to another yesterday.
the DNS propogatedproperly and I can access my new host
via Explorer. However, when I try toaccess it
(www.gpuc.org) via FrontPage 2002, I can't gain access to
it (yes, ID and password work via FTP, and other). In
the login screen upper left hand corner is the old server
name (ashabazz.addr.com) and neither the old ID/password
or the new ID/password gives me anything.

Any suggestions would greatly help.

Close FrontPage.
Find and delete all files named *.web and then try.

Also if you have FTP'd to the server, the extensions are broken. Have your host reinstall them.

1. Open My Network Places and delete the references for each remote site.

then

2. In FP's Open Web dialog box, for each website, select and right click each website link, and
select delete then:
a. click yes
b. click cancel
c. click ok

Then use FP's File Menu | Publish Web and enter the new URL and be sure to enter the URL as
http://www.gpuc.org

If you have use FTP to upload the current content, you need to contact your host have them run a
check on the extension and/or reinstall them, since FTP can corrupt the extensions which will then
not allow FP to connect.
