new "show as" category

Is there a way to add a new "Show As" category in the calendar? I need a way
to show that people are "Free" but only for conference call or remote
meetings. In particular with the emphasis on working from home, there is no
way to show that I am available for a con call/Live Meeting. If I show "Out
of Office" then it is assumed I am not available. If I show "free", then
people book me in face-to-face meetings which I can't attend. "Tentative"
doesn't work either. There needs to be a way to show "Remote" or
"Open-Remote Only".

No, you can't. You could use a filtered view if the user creates an
appointment that includes text identifying themselves as available for calls
etc.
