New Sony Vaio-Excel won't open

I've spent hours on phone with MS techs. I've done all
the steps (regedit, sent system info, installation info).
They still can't find and solve problem. Office XP
everything loads & works fine except excel. I exchanged
computer at store still same problem. I had been using it
on my old hp & no problems at all.
