Hi Everyone,

This posting is letting everyone know that we have re-released the Mac
Office SP2 11.2 patch/autoupdate to resolve 2 issues. If you have already
successfully applied the patch via the download or autoupdate, there is no
need to apply the updated version.

Enhancements in this release:
* We now find and patch Office 11 versions that were registered to another
language using the Language Register.
* We now ask the user to quit Office Notifications and Messenger, and
silently quit the Database Daemon prior to installing the update.

Thanks,
Rebecca

I had a problem with an SP2 installation that I haven't read about
elsewhere. Large Excel sheets crashed about every 10 minutes; and
autosave was disabled. Ended up removing Office 2004 and reinstalling
up to but not including SP2 (used the autoreport feature to report to
Microsoft). That at least got things working again.
My question is: does the new version of SP2 resolve this issue, or
should I wait to install SP2 again?

No one else has reported anything like this. Probably you just had a freak
occurrence. Removing and reinstalling was the right thing to do, and it
fixed it. _Probably_ updating to SP 2 again will be OK. (The "New version"
is not really a new version of SP 2: it's just a new version of the
installer, which didn't work at all for some people under 2 specific
conditions.) If, however, things go wrong again, Microsoft would really want
to know the details of those Excel workbooks, I'm sure.
