New Tasks Don't Display

We are just starting to use Project Server 2007. We are entering projects where some of the tasks are already completed when they are created. The task owners of these completed tasks are receiving messages saying "You Have 8 New Taks", but when they click on My Tasks, nothing shows up because the tasks are completed. Anyway to prevent this?

Cookie,
Since this is a general Project Server question and doesn't relate to
VBA or other development aspects of Project, you will probably get a
better response if you re-post to our sister newsgroup,
microsoft.public.project.server.
