The classic definition of a "project" is that it is "a time limited
undertaking resulting in a unique product or result." It has definite,
quantifiable, start and end points and an measurable duration. One exercise
fits that definition nicely. OTOH, your sequence of exercises really is
open-ended. While there may be a certain number within a year, the sequence
actually continues on into the next year and the next, etc so a project file
considering all the exercises as one single big project really has no
measurable end point. There is no "last" exercise after which you'll never
do any more. Thus I'd make each exercise a separate project, an entity in
itself, for planning purposes. You can then build a consolidation file that
shows the master training plan for the unit showing all the individual
projects and as new exercises are scheduled their files are added into the
master plan.

Would like some advise on how to set the project up. We are a military
squadron that controls about 20 plus military exercises a year. Should I
set the WHOLE schedule up as the project? or each Exercise as a project?
