(new to the group) importing data into excel and printing

I'm looking to build an application to import data from a RS232 port into
excel for record keeping and at the same time print a label. The data
coming into the com port is from a weight scale. I want to make it so when
I press the send button on the scale each time, the data is imported into
excel and then printed on a label. Anybody have any ideas on what to use?
