New to the Project Portfolio Server 2007

Dear All,

My name is Moh'd, i have seen the Product which is new to the Microsoft ,
called

Project Portfolio Server 2007.

to be very clear with you, i am working as project manager here in Saudi
Arabia, and i am having only PMP with me.

Here in our company, we are working only with one thing which is :-

1- Microsoft Office Project 2003 - Desktop client software.

We are not using @ all, Microsoft Project 2007 - Desktop Client Software.
We are not using even , Microsoft Project Server 2007 , or even Microsoft
Project Server 2003.

Now i have found these Products from Microsoft :-

1- Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server 2007 .
2- Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 .

Now, i Understand that, the Microsoft Project Server 2007, is the upgradable
one for the MS-Project Server 2003.

I really want to get a complete understanding of this product which is
called :-
Portfolio Server 2007..

I really do not know how can i use it in my company & i really search about
the Partner in Egypt or Saudi Arabia, who i can Purchase this Product from
him.

can anyone please explain to me the product exactly how can i use it & in
what can i use it... with a very simple way.

I really need your help .

Also, i want to understand , in what i can use the Project Server , if i
have for example 3 projects running & i have here in my company 3 project
managers are running for each project & each project manager have 12 people
working under him.

questions.

Salam Mohamed, i would be glad to help you either with project server 2007 or portfolio server 2007.
The simplest description for the difference between them is that project server is for project management (Do things Right) within budget and time. Project Portfolio is for selecting the projects with higher impact on your investments (Do the Right Things)
