New to VBA currently selected shape.

I am trying to figure out a simple thing in Visio 2003.
On a drawing I can have n + 1 shapes. (mostly stencil items)
I need to find out which shape is the current one selected and return that
value. Then do something to that shape like add text to the shape.
Most of my problems arrise from my lack of experiance in using the object
model.

help?
