New Window Defaults to Page Layout

Mac os9.2.2 325 ram 233hz word 2001

I work in 'Normal View' 95% of the time. Currently, files that I open are
opening in Page Layout view and I'm having to change them to Normal View. I
think the default has always been 'Normal View' and I'd like to get back to
that.

Any clues?

Hi Rafael,

You can put some macros in a global template to force everything to open in
Normal View, if you want (rather disconcerting for envelopes). But you
should be able to get Normal View most of the time--open up the Normal
template and make sure it is set to Normal View (space backspace to fake
Word into thinking it needs to be saved). Mine only used to wig out when
people sent me files in Page Layout View.
