New Window position defaults to a weird place

Anyone know why I get a new window approx 150 px below the menubar on every
new window launch?

See link: <http://img81.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture6za7.png>

I've tried resetting prefs to no avail. Any suggestions?

Couple of ideas:

1) Do you have a default template that opens to that position (i.e., a
template named "Workbook" - no quotes, no extension) in either your

HD:Applications:Microsoft Office 2008:Office:Startup:Excel

folder or the folder specified in Preferences/General, "At startup, open
all files in:" in put box?

2) Does renaming/deleting your

~:Library:preferences:com.microsoft.Excel.plist

file (where ~ is your home directory) solve the problem?

Not much other than Excel 2008, OS 10.5, and launching Excel or doing a New Worksheet within Excel. Oddly enough, I've deleted all the Excel prefs I can hunt down and the preference of a docked formula bar at the top of the window still sticks around, so I think there's a pref somewhere that I don't know about.

Can you describe what you are seeing? Are you using Spaces? I can't make
this happen on my configuration.

The formula bar floats, or docks under the menu bar, not to the worksheet.
