On a new computer (3.4 Ghz, 504 MB of RAM) with Windows XP and Office 2002,
Word is operating at a slow crawl. It is not opening slowly, it is not
crashing - although it did hang up at one point so badly that I did the
Ctrl-Alt-Del and it was not responding so I had to end it. Things that should
happen in a heartbeat are taking up to a minute. You can actually watch the
screen re-compose after taking an action - almost each action, even a simple
click to scroll down, takes the control away from the cursor and takes
forever to give it back. The other Office programs are operating normally,
and I have made sure that Outlook journal is not tracking and turned off
anything in the options that might slow it down.
If anyone has any suggestions, I need help!
Thanks.
