new word user creating flier

I'm tyring to create a flier using the mac version of word 2001 and I
can't seem to figure out how to get a document on its side so that
it's wider across and shorter in length...the usual flier style. any
suggestions?

Do Page Setup (File Menu) and select Landscape mode. That's for starters.

Hope this takes care of it for you.
