Newbie can't find his macros

I am just a simple guy who keeps my bank accounts and cash flow
forecasts in the simplest of Excel formats.

After 20 years of doing this successfully, I suddenly get warning
messages that my worksheet / workbook contain macros, and that I should
be certain that they come from "trustworthy sources".

Since I am the *only* source -- no data is drawn from outside the
workbook -- I decide to track down and repair / remove these mysterious
"macros".

I understand the idea of what a macro is, and does, but to the best of
my knowledge I have never composed one. All I want to do is to find
them, and eliminate them. I am NOT interested in Visual Basic, but why
can't I find, in the mountain of Excel and VB help pages, the simple (?)
topic "Finding Macros"?

No doubt this is childishly simple for regulars of this NG, but I'll
settle for that if I can learn to get rid of macros, rather than
composing them!!!!

You'd be better off asking this in a newsgroup related to Excel.

This newsgroup is for questions about macros in Access, the database product
that's part of Office Professional, and macros in Access bear no resemblence
to macros in Excel.

However, try looking under Tools | Macro | Macros from the tool bar.

Silly me! I thought the group name meant "access to info about macros".
Instead I find it's "info about macros in access". World of wonders

Alt+F11 >> If there are macros, you'll see the module on the right...Delete
it
