Newbie can't get database connection

I

Ian Hills

When I test an asp page in IE (on localhost) the database results region
yields this -

Database Results Error
The database connection named 'test' is undefined.

This problem can occur if:
* the connection has been removed from the web
* the file 'global.asa' is missing or contains errors
* the root folder does not have Scripting permissions enabled
* the web is not marked as an Application Root

- and nothing appears to be at fault, except that all my folders have
"scripting permissions" greyed out and I don't know what an Application Root
is.

Can anyone please help?

try this:
with the web in question open hit tools/ web settings/ database tab, then
click add and browse to the .mdb file you're using for a database, then hit
the verify button. save and close the dialog and re-test the page.
