Newbie--Changing dates

Hypothetically speaking, I have a project with dates from 10/19/04 to
12/24/04. I have more than doubled the amount of tasks in my project but
want to keep the same schedule of dates and associated hours.

My problem is that I can't figure out how to modify the project dates to
revert to what I want. I tried using the analysis tool but it just makes my
starting date earlier or my finishing date later.

Hi CS,

Either you have somehow linked your new tasks to the existing ones (in which
case it is absolutely normal that your project becomes longer) or by
introducing overallocation of resources and having resource leveling on
automatic.
Since I cannot guess how you did it (introducing new tasks normally does not
change the other tasks' plan) it is hard to tell you what to change.
What worries me most is that you seem to say that Project should not show
you a feasible plan but something you have in mind by all means... or am I
mistaken in that?
