Hi,
I just found this newsgroup and am impressed with the Microsoft MVP
(FrontPage) input.
I was helped very fast and appreciate it...quite perplexing at times.Even
though I have tinkered it with for many years.

You may be able to steer me to another newsgroup but I am wondering about
SharePoint.
1. Will Front Page eventually be out of date because of new browser
technology...I keep hearing about FP code and its complexities.
2. Will SharePoint be able to work with a FP site or do we need to start
over.
3.What are the general thoughts of FP users.
4.Has anyone tried SP yet.
Thank you

1. Will Front Page eventually be out of date because of new browser

Well some FP users have moved over to Expression Web. The extensions have
been discountinued but a company also seems to have put them into IIS 7.0
2. Will SharePoint be able to work with a FP site or do we need to start
over.
Yes, Sharepoint can be used to open, change, update a Frontpage website but
Sharepoint has a lot more abilities than just creating a website.
3.What are the general thoughts of FP users.
not exactly sure. FP users have been around for along time - I started with
Frontpage Express. FP is a great program. It helped people create a website
when they might not have been able to afford thousands of dollars to a web
developer. FP helped businesses get a web presence.

The users took full advantage of FP and some users took FP to another level.
They learned how to tweak FP and use its abilities to build a website that
might have been out of their level of expertise. These users helped shape
their website to something they needed and they wanted. These users should
be admired for using a product that was meant to help people create a website
4.Has anyone tried SP yet.
Yes

Hi, Ray
"3.What are the general thoughts of FP users. "
I started with PageMill and PageMaker and FrontPage is really easy to use.
It is very intuitive. I also ordered, from AMZN : _FrontPage 2003 The
Missing Manual- The book that should have been in the box_
and hadn't opened it (a yr later) till now looking for info re: Hit
Counters. If you feel you'd like a real primer, the author is Jessica Mantaro.
