Newbie question ref: Entourage MacOffice 2008

When I open Entourage I have my Mail folders and a list of News Servers in
the L pane. If I click on a Newsgroup Server eg: news.microsoft.com I get a
list of ALL the newsgroups held on the server with my Subscribed Newsgroups
in Blue. In order to see JUST the subscribed groups I have to go to VIEW -
Subscribed Only.
My question is, is there any way to Keep " Subscibed Only " ON when I close
Entourage????

There should be a triangle to the right of the server pointing to the name
of the news server. Click on that triangle, and Entourage should expand a
list of only the subscribed newsgroups. If you leave that list open, it
should reappear next time you launch Entourage.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for getting back.I see what you mean, and yes that works OK. But if
you click on the News Server name you get a list of ALL newsgroups in the R
pane, with your subscribed groups in a different color. If you then use
View-Subscribed Only then you just get the subscribed groups in a list in
the R pane. Is it possible to keep this setting/display when reopening
Entourage ?

Are you sure you have subscribed? Once you subscribe you should see that
newsgroup listed under Microsoft News Server in the left pane.

The View --> Subscribed only is only for the Microsoft News Server list.
Once you subscribe, the newsgroup will show up under the Microsoft News
Server in the left folder list. Just toggle the triangle to see your
subscribed lists.

I understand your question. As far as I know, the answer is "no". The
expandable list is Entourage's closest feature for providing the information
you're seeking. It also has the advantage of showing how many new (unread)
messages are in each newsgroup, assuming that one of your schedules includes
"Receive News" for specified newsgroups on that server.
