Newbie to Excel; need a template

Using Office 2004. Absolutely new to Excel.

After trying out a variety of password and website sign-in storage
utilities (like Password Retriever), I've decided I want to go back to
a more basic approach, and use an Excel Template.

I know nothing about Excel, though. So two questions:

1. Can anyone point to some existing Templates out there that might
work for this. I'm just looking for something with maybe 5 columns.

2. Is there a way in Excel to make a document only a certain number of
columns wide? In other words, right now, in a fresh doc, when I tab
from field to field, it just keeps going horizontally on and on. I'd
like to set up a template where when I hit the tab key, it runs through
each of the five cells in a row and then drops down to the next row.

thanks for any ideas on this!

One way that I know :

Select the range you want to browse through (let's say A1:D25).
From the "Format" menu > "Cells..." item, get the "Protection" tab.
Uncheck the "Locked" checkbox. Click the "OK" button.
From the "Tools" Menu > "Protection", select the "Protect Sheet..." item.
Don't bother to put a password, just click the "OK" button.

Form now on, each time you'll hit the "Tab" key, the cursor will jump to the
next cell on the right and, when it reaches the fifth column, it'll jump
back to the first column, one row lower. Note the "Enter" Key (the one on
the numeric keypad) will perform the same move...

Dang, Bernard. That worked! I've been looking for this solution for
years.

Many, many thanks for posting this (sorry it took a few to get back to
it).
