Hi
whenever searches are done in outlook the oldest e mail is searched first. i
have read a lot of people say its the way the search run through the PST
file.. but what if we dont have use PST files ( non cached mode). now people
say this is not possible but whenever my manger runs a search his newest e
mails are displayed first?

is there anyway to make outlook to search newest e mails first.
the configuration is very simple

Exchange 2003
Outlook 2003
non cached mode ( thus no pst)
Windows XP

Any help would be great
Thanks

No. Searching is always oldest to newest (based on modified datestamp).
Some people like this search order. I do not since it is rare that I
want to find the oldest matching e-mails rather than the newest ones
(since new ones are probably more relevant to the new topic that caused
me to do the search).

Actually it is based on the order that the items were written to the
pst-file. If I were to rebuild my ost-file today, it would always start
searching from this date to the oldest and then from this date to the newest
items. That is because when you create a new ost-file, the synching starts
with newest items first.
