NewPresentation event doesn't fire!

Hello everyone,
I'm writing an add-in to power point xp in c# and the NewPresentation
and the AfterNewPresentation don't seem to fire. is this a known bug?
is there any other way to catch the adding of a new presentation to
the presentations collection?
