News in Outlook 2003

I'm sure this has been answered before but my searches have turned up
nothing. I understand that I should be able to add NEWS to the GO menu in
Outlook 2003. But when I try to customize the toolbar by dragging the NEWS
command to the GO category, it just won't do anything. It refuses to let
me add NEWS to the GO menu. What am I missing?

I have had exactly the same problem.
I was able to transfer the command but when I went back it was missing.
On one occasion I looked and it was there but when I clicked on to it, it
opened a 1033 directory.
I have given up & use the reader in Express now

Yes, I had the 1033 thing too. I seem to have it working ok now. Once I
told it to leave Outlook Express as the default newsreader and checked the
box to stop checking, it all seems to work.

Spoke too soon.
Same problem is back...news link goes to 1033 folder

Well I just had the same problem. The News command in the Go tool bar just
went away.

I tried what Mick said and now it's back I hope it stays.
