News Reader

I just got a new computer at work with Outlook 2003. I'm trying to add the
button to my toolbar that will let me open my news reader to the discussion
groups I like to visit.

Can anyone help me find out where to add the News button? I tried lookin in
the Help files but couldn't get that to work...

Thanks!

Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize. Click the Commands tab.
Select the "Go menu one the left and locate "News" on the right. Now, go
back to the toolbar and click the Go menu. You can now drag the News
command from within the Customize wizard and place it on the Go menu
wherever you choose.

Thank you for the reply Brian. I've tried that but the News item in the
right hand pane isn't there. I'm not sure if I deleted it somehow.

Do you know how I can get it back?

Open IE and click Tools>Internet Options>Programs. In the Newsgroups
drop-down, select Outlook Express. Click OK. The next time you start OE,
if it asks if you want to make it the default newsreader, select the "Don't
ask me again" box and click No. The News item will then reappear in the
Customize dialogue.

I hate to be a pest, but after I put the News button on my toolbar, clicked
on it, it worked great. Then I closed it, tried to reopen it but then it
went to C:\program files\common files\system\msmapi\1033.

Any ideas on how tio get the news reader to open correctly now that I have
it back?

Thanks again!
