Newsgroups losing count. Tiger 10.4.2

I'm having trouble on the newsreader for one newsgroup that keeps losing its
thread count and old posts are coming up as new, read posts are showing up
as unread. This only happened since updating to Tiger 10.4.2

Any solutions or ideas?

I seem to have fixed the problem by unsubscribing and resubscribing to the
group.
