Newsletter created with Pub 2007 won't display on Yahoo.

I've been using Publisher 2003 for about a year to create a biweekly
newsletter. I use a modified web design and send the email "as a message".
It worked fine. Then I upgraded to 2007. I have been fighting with this
thing since. I used to be able to save my document as a single file web
page, but when I do it now it scrambles the text boxes and tables, so I found
I could send it as a "Single JPEG" which works fine with Hotmail and Outlook,
but won't display on Yahoo. I also found if I don't save as a single jepg it
breaks down my email into 75+ image files. Is there something I am
overlooking? Thanks.

There were some changes in Pub 2007 that will probably require you to make
some changes in your newsletter format. One issue that you will always have
is trying to design the newsletter such that it will view well in every
email client, and that will be nearly impossible if you send as a message.
As you have discovered, Yahoo is apparently set to not automatically show
images. The user can choose to load and view those images if memory serves
from watching a friend use Yahoo mail. You will also have to deal with some
email clients being set for plain text only, which would preclude you
sending the message in html format. And in my experience sending as a single
JPG results in a file size that is way too large to be sending to people
with dial up internet connections. Bottom line is that with the increasing
security measures being incorporated into email clients these days, you will
find increasing difficulty getting your email newsletter to view correctly
in all email clients when you send it as a message.

With that said, Publisher 2007 now has the added ability to send Publisher
documents as PDF files as an attachment. And if you incorporate hyperlinks
in your newsletter, they will survive the conversion. Yes, I know that means
sending as an attachment, but at least everyone that gets it will see the
same thing, and the file size will be smaller than trying to send as an
image.

to read about the changes in Pub 2007. With the way that email clients are
changing, you will have to change your approach with the times. Personally,
I would suggest the PDF route as it is the most foolproof, but there is
always more than one way to do things. I would also suggest that you
consider starting with one of the email formatted newsletter templates, if
you want to try to send in HTML format. There will be fewer formatting
problems. Good luck.
