When I was evaluating the Mac world a few months ago, I used a computer
which had Office 2008 on it and while I don't remember all the
specifics, I rememeber using the mail program included with the Mac and
then Thunderbird for newsgroup reading as I found Entourage a bit buggy.
So, as I'd prefer to use one program to handle both tasks and
Thunderbird has more flaws than I care for, I'm wondering if there's an
update expected for the Mac version of Office anytime soon? I ask
because I know the new version for Windows is to be relased reasonably soon.

How so?

Unfortunately Entourage has never had a very strong newsreader, and
there's little evidence it will be improved due to the dwindling number
of people who use newsgroups.

So, as I'd prefer to use one program to handle both tasks and

A new version of Mac Office is in the works, but a release date has not
been announced. In the past, Office versions come out for Mac about a
year after they come out for Windows.
