nextif

I am an experienced Mail Merger. Currently the Excel
data has a row for each household (HH) member, multi rows
per HH. Word merge document, one per HH, not one letter
per HH member. I believe 'nextif' will fix it, neeed
idiot-prooof instructions. Have tried and failed to
insert this field command. The document contains a
simple table with columns of personal information and
rows for each HH Member, then process the next letter.
Where do I insert the field command 'nextif' and how do I
set up the 'nextif' criteria? Have tried positioning the
cursor immediately after the last merge field in the last
column, but it is hidden, no window asks me to set
up 'whatif' 'this' and/or 'that'? Failer. Please help
me or shoot me to put me out of my misery.
