Night shift

Anyone know how to start work in the evening (before 00:00) and end work the
next morning?

You have to create a calendar which contains the work for one calendar day....i.e.
if we take a Tuesday for an example:

12:00 AM - 4:00 AM (Monday Night/Tuesday Morning)
8:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Tuesday Night)

It's a bit counterintuitive, because most people would consider that two
half days, but that should work. Just take care on Monday, Saturday, and
perhaps Sunday to make sure those are set properly.

Hi

You may use the defalut 'Night shift calendar' given in MS Project.
If you want some modifications in it, make a new calendar as a copy of it
and customise it as per your requirement.

Don't forget to choose your new created calendar as the project calendar
through Project > Project Information option.

I hope it helps

Doh - I forgot there even was a default night shift calendar. Yes, that
would be considerably easier.

HPH - you may also want to look into the difference between project, task,
and resource calendars, and the interplay between them. It depends on if
everything in your schedule is night shift, or whether or not that will vary
by task and/or resource.
