no 24hour times possible in Calender

?

--

I have a problem with Entourage 2004,11.3.6 (070618) running on
Leopard. Both are up to date.

When trying to make a new item in Calender, I can't fill in a time
using the 24 hour clock by keyboard. It does work through the little up
and down arrows.

I have set my system to 24 hour clock.

My wife with Tiger does not have this problem.

Any idea why this is?

Other users have reported problems with Leopard and setting 24 hour clock in
Entourage. I expect this bug will be fixed in a Leopard update.

None that I have seen.

May I suggest a little workaround, until somebody fixes this "24 hour
time format Entourage-Leopard" bug. This will simplify the "time"
typing for a new event (supposing that your system is already setup to
use a 24 hour time format).

Open International prefs pane, click Fomats tab. For Times setting,
click Customize. In "Show: Short", drag the PM button after the
minutes number (add a space between the two, this will look better in
Entourage).
This way, Entourage 2004 will continue to show time in 24 hour, AND it
will be easier to type the hour for your new events.

Example: To type 14:30 for a new event, do NOT try to type "1-4" for
the hour, it will show "04:30 AM". Instead, type "4+TAB+30+TAB+P", it
will change automatically to "16:30 PM" when you type the "P". I
know, this bug is annoying, but this is the smoothest workaround I
found. Typing the hour in "12" format and add "p" at the end is not
so difficult...
