no annotations toolbar in Office Documents Imaging

Trying to add text to forms scanned in TIF with ODI. Help file refers to
Annotations tool bar (/assistance/aha010780311033.aspx) but no tool bar is
present when I open the file as per the help file instructions. Where is
that tool bar and how do I get it on screen so I can fill out my quarterly
reports on time?

Hi Churchlady,

The annotations toolbar is actually a series of icons
that appear in the (2nd line) existing toolbar
in MS Office 2003 Document Imaging when
you turn on View=>Toolbars=>Annotations.

The icons are
Pen, Highlighter, Insert TextBox, Inser Picture
and Select Annotations, as mentioned in the article
you referenced:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010780311033.aspx

The icons mentioned will go 'dim' if you go to
Tools=>Annotations and choose 'hide annotations'

Sorry Bob,
I am not stupid. There is no option for "tools" or "toolbar" in menu
choices under view when I open ODI. The icons are not present in any way
shape or form. Is it possible mozilla is not supporting everything it needs
to in ODI for this to work?

Hi Churchlady,

The browser version you're using shouldn't affect
these options. They are only available in
MS Office Document Imaging 2003, not in XP/2002.
(you didn't mention the version you're using)

Does this happen in any document or only the one
with forms?

Was this an install you did from the CD or a
tailored/corporate install.

If you're using a standalone Office 2003 install
you may want to try running a repair from Add/Remove
Programs in the Windows control panel on Microsoft Office.

O K Bob, you are doing better. Using version 2002 installed from disk, I
ran repair juust in case. Why does the help file not give the appropriate
information for that version. I still need to be able to access the text to
fill out the forms so what do I do next. They are the first and only thing I
have on ODI and they may be the last..
