No Auto Update of Excel charts in Access 2000

I have put two charts from one sheet of an Excel file into
a row of an Access 2000 table. The table cells are then
used as unbound objects in a report. The objects'
properties are set to automatically update but it doesn't
happen. I think I followed the complete instructions in
help for importing and using the objects. Can anyone tell
me what I might have missed?
