No blue squares or circles show up when I try to attach "connector

M

Drawing: in my Word 2002 SP-2 no blue squares or circles show up when I
select "connector" and move the mouse pointer over a shape.

The F1- help suggest they should. I would like to attach & lock connectors
so the line ends move with objects. I just can't seem to connect them for the
supposed blue connection points never show up. What am I doing wrong?

Background:
I am using Word 2002 SP-2 and trying to record macros that are compatible
with as many other versions of word as possible.

In Word 2002 and 2003, connectors are available only when you are using the
drawing canvas.

Hi Marleen,

The blue attachment point dots on shapes that can
use connectors are only active when you're using the
Word 2002 drawing Canvas (Insert=>Picture=>New Drawing)
to hold the shapes you're working on and the connectors.

If you're in the drawing canvas and add a connector shape
from the Autoshapes button on the drawing toolbar the blue
dots should appear on your autoshapes when you mouse over
them when you first select a connector to place and are
getting ready to link two shapes.
