No Button Graphics after Publication

I created automated navigation using the linkbar in FrontPage 2003 and
selected a button graphic for my web page. The Web hosting site has all the
FrontPage extensions turned on, but when I surf to the page
(www.microfince.com) the navigation buttons appear as plain text, e.g.
[button] without the graphic. When I preview the page from within FrontPage,
the button graphics appear just fine. Any ideas?

Mark,

First, very nice site. Your host may not have updated their FrontPage
extensions. So far, I've seen hosts update their extensions to FP 2002, but
a lot of them are slow with the new features of 2003/updating their
extensions. Unfortunately, even with updated extensions, there are certain
features of FP that aren't available in certain browsers (other than IE).

However, I viewed your site in IE and the buttons should be availabe. It
doesn't look like your button graphics are missing (no red x's or other
indicator that the browser didn't load button graphics). It looks like you
used a navigation button design that is part of a theme. You may need to
update the theme on your entire website or the navigation part.

In summary, I think it's just a style definition and not a browser failure
to load graphics. Let me know if you need more help.

you have graphics for several themes uploaded to the server so the pieces
(more than what you need are there), try reapplying the style to the link
bar buttons and doing a full publish again.

I'm having a similar problem at
http://gdpkeyboarding.com/FramesetTips/Frameset_Tips.htm. All the buttons
should look like the Home button and they appear fine in FP 03 but don't show
up in the browser. You mention updating the theme. How do you do that and why
do buttons display OK on other pages? Shouldn't that mean that the theme is
OK? The buttons you see are part of a link bar generated by FrontPage. The
Home button was manually created.

You can't use a custom theme for nav bars links (s-theme="axis 0100") unless you create the nav bar under a server running the FP
2002 SE
- open you online site in FP and create it there
- or use your default theme

There are no 2003 extensions. Hosts aren't slow, they would be magicians if
they updated their extensions from 2002.

The server is running the extensions. If I chnage the link bar to current
theme, it sticks, but I don't want the current theme button--too big. Why
would it display OK in FP as I work on it live on the server but not display
OK in Explorer? It is using the same graphic as the Home button. Thanks for
your help, Stefan.

You need to modify the theme and then save under a new name, then apply the modified theme.
