No database menu when openening database model diagram

For some reason, I can't get the Database menu to show up
anymore in Visio 2000. I realize this menu only appears
when I've got a Database Model Diagram open. I've tried
reinstalling Visio but still no Database menu. I can
open my existing Database Model diagram, and create a new
one (but I can't reverse engineer, etc. w/o the menu).
Anybody know what might be causing this?
